I'll dominate 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Former two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will break his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his showmanship - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's greatest financial successes, regularly earning huge earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers met for the customary stare-down, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually going ahead.
